We believe in the power of community. For over 15 years, Fresh Attitude has been working in partnership with local initiatives to promote healthy eating among people of all ages. The Fresh Attitude brand is part of Veg Pro International, the largest producer of fresh-cut salad in Canada. Located in Sherrington, Quebec, Veg Pro produces hundreds of thousands of pounds of salad every week, for distribution on the east coast of Canada and the United States.

Veg Pro’s roots date back to 1952 when Pierre and John Van Winden, Dutch immigrants who settled south of Montreal, began cultivating fresh vegetables. Following in his father Pierre Van Winden’s footsteps, Gerry Van Winden came up with the Veg Pro concept—an innovative market gardening business that distributes its fresh, home-grown produce. He took over the family business in 1984.

In the early 2000s, Veg Pro was the only Canadian company specializing in baby spinach and mesclun.

Today, Veg Pro’s activities span the entire east coast of North America, and although they own and manage several thousand acres of crops, they continue to uphold the values which underpin their reputation—freshness, innovation, and respect for both the agricultural trade and consumers.
